Happy Saturday my crafty friends! I hope you have some time in the craft room planned this weekend and if so, let me offer some wonderful inspiration with this month's Mini Delight. As you know, I love everything lily can the Calla Lily is no exception.
As you may have noticed lately, I have been trying to branch out with the mediums some and get away a bit from just stamping. For this card I used Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I have the large 150 pencil set. When or if you decide to buy colored pencils, shop around as there are many sites and the prices vary. Given that this is the mini delight, I decided this should also be a mini slimline card.
Starting out with clear Versamark ink, I use Brutus Monroe's Raven black embossing powder to emboss the image in the center of the card. Given the size of my image, I did not need many colors but chose three shades of blue and two shades of green for the leaves. I colored my flowers as I would using any other coloring by starting dark at the base and getting lighter as I got higher. For my leaves I chose to keep them simple and just color one leaf darker than the other and add in a few strokes of shading of each color in each leaf.
Once I was done coloring my flower, I decided I would add the gold triangle using gold metallic paper from Brutus Monroe and the Fine Frames Triangle dies from Altenew. The sentiment comes with the stamp and I embossed it on paper from the Altenew Blends Paper Pak. For the finishing touch I has some flat blue embellishments in my stash for a little extra something.
If you do not belong to the Mini Delight monthly subscription, I highly recommend that you sign up. You will get extra savings, an early sneak peak at the month's design and you can always skip if you are not inspired. How can you go wrong?
