Craft Your Life: Vintage Tapestry

Updated: Dec 18, 2021

Hello my crafty friends! It is time for Altenew's December Craft Your Life Kit. I love these kits and I will say that I am a monthly subscriber. For a low monthly price, you receive an all-in-one kit in which you are limited only my your imagination. What attracted me the most to this month's set was the vine tails you could create.

I have learned my style of preference is clean and simple. So my project today is another clean and simple card with the Vintage Tapestry Stamp set. I tend to be intimidated by layering and I inevitably manage to mess some part of the stamping up and this project was not exception. For my base layer, I started with a piece of White glossy paper. I have found this paper gets great results with heat foiling. I then took the new splatter foil background die from Altenew and adhered a sheet of rose gold foil to my glossy white cardstock.

Next I chose the flowers I wanted to layer from the stamp set and I chose my color pallets. For my larger flower I chose to use Red Sunset Ink set and for the smaller flowers I chose to use Glacier Caves Ink set and the leaves I used Tropical Forest Ink set. Now, as I said earlier, I always manage to stamp one layer going in a wrong direction when I do stamp layering. Most of us being the perfectionists that we are would throw out and start over. However, wanting to expand my horizons and rise to the challenge, I decided there had to be a way a crafty person could fix this and nobody would be the wiser. Here is what I did. I found an alcohol marker in the color set that I was stamping and I used it to blend the colors. Can you

tell? My photo here is a close up of my flowers and you tell me if you can tell in the comments, I bet you cannot.

Now that my boo boo is fixed, I decided the layout of everything and used glue and foam tape to affix everything to the base. My final touch was to decide on the sentiment. I felt the secret to having it all sentiment was perfect and ever so true. However guys; just because you may feel like you have it all, never stop striving to get more as you may miss out on an adventure you will treasure forever with someone you may not have tomorrow. With my card front arranged as I wanted it, I trimmed the edged with my new deckled trimmer from Tim Holtz and affixed my sentiment strip to my card base.

I hope you like this card and will give it or something similar a try. If you have not checked out Altenew's blog and Jaycee's project, follow this link and go see it as he always has beautiful cards. Happy crafting my friends and I will see you soon with another project.
