Hello my crafty friends and I do hope your New Year is off to a great start and what better way to get going than a wonderful new Altenew collection? I am happy to once again be a part of this new Vintage Galore Collection Release for January and I had so much fun with it. I love foil plates and I did two projects with new foil plates and then the new Sentiments Strips 3 has a phrase for just about any occasion.
I have to say, I fell in love with the Golden Days foil plate and coloring stencil in this collection and it was the first item I ripped open when my box came. Using White Gloss Cardstock from Simon Says Stamp along with Gold foil from Sizzix, I embossed the Rose outline onto my cardstock panel. I will note that you can use other foils as long as they are a heat foil such as Sizzix or We R Foil Quill Foil. Thermo Web foils will NOT work with foil plates. Additionally, I have the solid foil plate from Pinkfresh as not to let any of my beautiful foil go to waste and I used the negative of the flower on another piece of cardstock to use on another card later.
I have shown this negative here as well as I love these too.
Next I pulled out the coloring stencil that goes with this. I so enjoy Altenew's coloring stencils and there are so many these days. I am almost disappointed when there is a set with no coloring stencil these days as they really make me look like a professional. As yellow roses were always my mother's favorites, I chose to color my flower in yellow in honor of her. Starting with Citrus Burst moving to Fresh Lemon (one of my favorite colors), then Maple Yellow and finishing with Honey Drizzle. The middle of my flower I colored with Just Green.
To bring this card to a close I cut the hugs sentiment from the Fancy Hugs die from gold cardstock and foam, cut the extra swirls off I did not want and glued it all down. Next I popped my panel up on Sprout colored cardstock from Concord and 9th and gave it a decorative frame from Pinkfresh.
The Golden Days card is by far my favorite and I decided just to highlight this card for now however, the supplies that I used for all cards are listed below and if there is anything you would like to know on any of the cards shown, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
